Fiat 500L Trekking from BS Marson in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire

With the 500L Trekking, Fiat has created a compact MPV that also embodies the spirit of adventure and exploration. Its ability to handle more challenging terrain as easily as it nips through city streets has made the Trekking a popular model for those seeking a reliable and adaptable vehicle.

Exterior

The Trekking has a front-wheel drive layout, but its raised chassis make it similar to a 4x4. It has a higher ride height than the standard 500L, Traction+ traction control system and all-season tyres fitted as standard. The vehicle imitates the rugged look of 4x4 vehicles with Trekking side mouldings, body kit and tinted windows.

17-inch alloy wheels are fitted as standard and the car can be personalised with a wide range of stylish and practical additions, including chrome tinting, bi-colour design, roof bars, bicycle racks and tow hooks.

Interior

The interior of the 500L Trekking puts the emphasis on quality, comfort and ease of use, with Dualogic gear change paddles and audio controls on the leather-covered steering wheel, rear parking sensors and remote central locking.

The boot has a “Cargo Magic Space” which is a height-adjustable loading platform, ideal for storing more fragile items during transit. The seating configuration of the 500L Trekking is flexible and easy to adapt to suit your needs, with a fold and tumble function to quickly flatten the rear seats and increase storage space.

Engines and Performance

The Trekking is an economical vehicle, reaching 44.1mpg with the standard 1.4-litre petrol engine and an impressive 67.3mpg if fitted with the 1.3-litre MultiJet Dualogic engine. The Start & Stop system also works to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by turning off the engine when the vehicle is idling.

The car’s six-speed gearbox changes gear quickly and smoothly, and all-weather tyres plus stability control mean that the absence of four-wheel drive is barely noticeable on uneven terrain. The Dualdrive electric steering has a “City” mode which optimises handling for city streets to make the driving experience more responsive.

Safety and Technology

The 500L Trekking has six airbags to ensure the safety of all passengers, and ISOFIX attachments to safely and securely fit a child seat. The headlights have automatic rain sensors, while the fog lights include a cornering function which illuminates the area you are turning into as you steer.

Features such as the Anti-lock Braking System prevent wheels from locking and skidding, while City Brake Control can detect obstacles in front of the car and brake automatically - invaluable on busy roads.
