The trend-setting Fiat 500 is given an extra dose of panache by the S version of this slick city car.
S stands for sporty and everything about the design, features and drive of the Fiat 500S says athletic spirit.
As soon as your eyes meet the Fiat 500S, you know it is the luxurious sibling. It has its own chrome exhaust tip in a trapezium shape, mirroring those of powerful sports cars. Body-coloured side skirts means it sits close to the ground. The front bumper has been given a muscular overhaul, with a larger grille and the addition of chiselled front air intakes.
Dark-tinted rear windows mean that any passengers can enjoy privacy while you’re travelling and avoid getting dazzled by the sun’s rays. Then select whether you would like one of the new colours exclusive to 500S. There’s metallic Electronica Blue – a vivid tone that’s made for the racing track, or Marching Green – a military-inspired hue.
Choose between two alloy wheel styles – the classic 15-inch Satin Graphite or the ultra-stylish 16-inch matt black version with a diamond-cut finish. You’ll also notice Satin Graphite finishing on the mirror covers and other exterior details, such as the door handles.
Once you slip behind the wheel, you’ll be surrounded by extra sporting features, bringing racetrack vibes to your everyday drive. Sports seats embellished with the 500S logo hug you while you drive. Choose whether you want blue, yellow or white inserts, depending on how bold you want the interior to look. There’s also the option of leather finishing in a choice of black with ivory, or a deep red with light blue. You’ll grip a leather sports steering wheel, completing the athletic feel of the car. Audio controls are integrated, so it’s easy to adjust the volume and switch between tracks while you’re cruising without taking your concentration from the road.
There’s space in the back for two passengers, or you can fold the seats down to get more sports gear in the back.
Air conditioning is included to keep you cool whatever the weather.
Keep the paintwork in mint condition when you’re parking, thanks to the parking sensors. They’ll let you know if you’re getting too close to other vehicles when you’re slipping into tight spaces, helping you to find the perfect spot in busy town centres.
With your foot on the accelerator pedal, you can watch your speed and rev counter rise on a seven-inch TFT instrument counter. There’s also a seven-inch touchscreen that hosts the DAB digital radio, CD player and whatever’s connected through the USB and AUX-in ports.
