When it comes to applying for a car on the Motability Scheme, you’ll need to know if you qualify. The eligibility requirements are fairly straightforward – you simply need to be in receipt of one of the following allowances, for which there must be 12 months’ award length remaining:
If you are the parent or guardian of a child who is over the age of three and receives mobility support, you can also apply for the scheme. It enables you to drive a Mobility or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle on behalf of your child, and benefit from the additional services.
If you do not drive, up to two people can be named to drive on your behalf. They must have a full driving licence and fulfil the conditions the scheme sets out.
